The Greeks did not have the technical means to cut the Isthmus of Corinth, but had built a sort of street on which dragged the ships to make them pass from the Aegean Sea to the Ionian Sea.
Reproposing and reiterate the event conceived as a month of performances, actions, contemporary art installations in urban space; As if this event could build a kind of road, bridge to connect the two banks, one of our rea lity history, of our daily lives and the shore of the magical and metaphysical reality of the artistic gesture.
Happening! 2 will be held in Marina di Ginosa and the Temple of Hera archaeological site known as “Palatine Tables” elegant Doric colonnade built in the second half of the sixth century BC In the adjacent museum Antiquarium of Metaponto, will present an evolutionary exhibition to be enriched and changed daily with new works, installations and performances, along its entire length until reaching a final form on the day of the closing day.
Thanks to the patronage of the Archaeological Superintendence of Basilicata.
Brynjar works at the conjunction of formalistic premises and a more free floating sensibility. Like where the sea meets the land on the shore. It’s a habitual place he comes from where people continue to create meaning from thought of things and things thought up. He is schooled at the Iceland Academy of Art and further more at an artist’s book-keeping in Amsterdam (see: https://boewoe.home.xs4all.nl). He has exhibited in different places and after this exhibition he will go back to Iceland to participate in the Plan-B festival of Borgarnes (https://www.planbartfestival.is).
