Rökkur
Nuit des images
Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Opening 27 June 2015
On Saturday June 27th Rökkur – a projection of the works of seven members of The Icelandic Contemporary Photography Association – will be shown at the 30th anniversary of Nuit des images at the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The event starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, the 27th of June, in the gardens of the Elysée where the entire museum comes alive and unleashes itself to celebrate this anniversary with the public. As night falls the Elysée gardens will be illuminated with screenings and concerts, where the images of Katrín Elvarsdóttir, Spessi Hallbjörnsson, Hallgerdur Hallgrimsdóttir, Einar Falur Ingólfsson, Bára Kristinsdóttir, Daniel Reuter and Pétur Thomsen will be shown on Screen 3. Their work Rökkur takes us on a mysterious journey through the Icelandic countryside, where nature and man-made structures embody the relationship between man and his surroundings. The journey is a quest for quietness and solitude.
