Theresa Himmer in Westfälischer Kunstverein
There’s no Place like Home
“There’s no place like home” alludes to the spatial constitution of human existence. After four years of programming in different locations throughout the city, this first show in the Kunstverein’s new exhibition spaces examines what it means to make a place one’s own. Our being is conditioned by our relation to space – this relation is not merely a physical or geographical one, but always forms parts of our identity. A group of international artists presents a critical analysis of the various relations between individuals and space, the concept of home, its contemporary role and links to the highly contested notion of “Heimat”.
Artists included : Eric Baudelaire, Nanna Debois Buhl, Jean-Pascal Flavien, Theresa Himmer, Maria Loboda, Benjamin Tiven, Jeronimo Voss, Christoph Westermeier.
