July 2010 – Villa Reykjavík
In July 2010, 14 European galleries came together in Reykjavík and created the first gallery district in town.
For a month Icelanders and tourists could stroll in the harbour area from one gallery to the next and see and discuss works by artists such as Jacob Dahl Jürgensen and Simon Dybbroe Møller, Paweł Althamer, Prinz Gholam, Johanna Billing, Alena Kotzmannová, Elín Hansdóttir, William Hunt, Pierre Bismuth, Michael Sailstorfer, Arnfinnur Amazeen, Rafał Bujnowski, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Elena Narbutaitė, Micol Assaël and many more.
The Icelandic Art Center served as info point and hub for the amazing organizers, the team of Raster Gallery in Warsaw.
It was a true pleasure to welcome the galleries Croy Nielsen, Foksal Gallery Foundation, Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, Hollybush Gardens, Hunt Kastner, IBID Projects, Jan Mot, Johann König, Raster, Rodeo, Tulips & Roses and Zero in Iceland and look forard to do so again!
