The performance “Hei Maei” by Borghildur Indriðadóttir understands the scale and magnitude of ocean life through sound and movement. “Hei Maei” is inspired by the mystic and unknown intelligence of oceanic sea creatures. The internationally renowned sound artist Bane Janković will develop a semantic structure within the choreography to question how whale frequencies affect human emotions and behavior. Sound and performance will interact with each other for an intense moment on the island of Grótta and at the old harbor. The performances will take place on the 8th and 18th of August and the video production will take place on one of the dates between the 31 – 3 August. The 8th of August is the opening event for “Earth Homing” and the 18th of August is Culture Night / Menningarnott. Everyone will be credited for their work. Video will be on view within the exhibition and online.
