Open call: Reykjavik Arts Festival Hub Contest

Reykjavik Arts Festival Hub Contest

An informal contest for an idea for the look and design of the hub is now open to all artist and designers based in Iceland.

The festival hub for Reykjavik Arts Festival 2018 will be situated at the Reykjavik Arts Museum in Hafnarhus down by the harbour.

An informal contest for an idea for the look and design of the hub is now open to all artist and designers based in Iceland.

The hub will be the venue for all kinds of events during the festival, ranging from seminars to live music. The space is 100 m² with 7-meter ceiling height. More info about the space can found on Reykjavik Arts Museum website.

Please take into consideration that the number of seats has to remain flexible and that a grand piano and a small bar has to fit into the space. Accessibility is very important to us as well as sustainability and cost effectiveness. The hub will be open for 17 days in June 2018.

The winner receives a 100.000 ISK cash reward and payment for their work following the idea through.

The theme for the 2018 edition of Reykjavik Arts Festival is “Home” and artists/designers are encouraged to use that as their inspiration, although it is not mandatory.

More info about the theme can be found here.

Deadline: 5th February 2018
