Hanna Styrmisdóttir

Hanna Styrmisdottir is an independent curator and art adviser based in Reykjavik. Her projects include Libia Castro’s & Olafur Olafsson’s Constitution of the Republic of Iceland (Hafnarborg Art Centre 2011), Steingrimur Eyfjord’s The Golden Plover Has Arrived (Icelandic Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2007), The Icelandic Arts Awards (2006), Grús / Gravel (The Nordic House 2005), Matthew Barney’s Cremaster Plate (The Living Art Museum 2003), The Dome (Reykjavik Art Museum 2003) and Polyphony (The Living Art Museum 2001). She has held positions at major institutions in Reykjavik, including the Nordic House (2005 – 2006), and the Reykjavik Art Museum (2001 – 2003) as well as a number of advisory boards in Iceland and abroad. Hanna holds a post–graduate degree in Critical Studies from Malmö Art Academy (2004), an MA in Visual Arts from Chelsea College of Art, London (1996), and a BFA from Parsons School of Design, Paris & New York (1993).
