Aðalsteinn Þórsson (b. 1964)
For the last fifteen years Aðalstein´s main occupation has been The Personal collection – Einkasafnið. A project where he “collects the leftovers of his life.” This can be both in material form, the leftovers of the consumption or as a result of a mental process the creative leftovers. Last June he opened The Center – Miðstöðina, in the land of Kristnes in Eyjafjörður. Which is going to be the home of the collection. A physical space and a living museum.
Aðalsteinn studied at the Myndlistaskólinn á Akureyri, Lahti Institute Of Fine Arts in Lahti, Finland and The Dutch Art Institute, the Netherlands were he received his MFA in 1998.
