Anna Rún Tryggvadóttir is an interdisciplinary artist, living in Berlin and working between Reykjavík, Berlin and Montral. She holds an MFA from Concordia, Montreal, Canada and a BFA from the The Icelandic Academy of the Arts.
For the past 10 years, Tryggvadóttir has mainly been working on an installation practice based on processual sculptures and drawings.
Navigating a potential of becoming, Tryggvadóttir manipulates inherent potentials of chosen materials to unfold within a framework. The result exposes a raw material space, vulnerable to the unpredictability of the process itself.
The focus of the work is on the materials, their presence and potential, while investigating the way they relate to and affect the body of the viewer.
