Gudjon Bjarnason

Gudjón Bjarnason (b. 1959), one of the founders of the Icelandic School of Architecture, has also taught at the Rhode Island School of Design as well as other universities in New York and Verona. His systematic and reductivist work—whether in the form of steel or bronze sculptures, oil on canvas or works on paper—treads the line between representation and abstraction, exploring through his own semiotic systems the origins of consciousness and thought.
