Kristín Rúnarsdóttir
Kristín Rúnarsdóttir (b. 1984) received her BA in Fine Arts from Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2009 and an MA in Fine Arts from Bergen Academy of Art and Design in 2013.
Her recent work builds on the basic elements of painting; line and colour. Drawing from the world of sport and the visual imagery of public spaces, rules and organisation, her visual imagery is clean-cut, straddling the institutional and cold on the one hand and the personal and playful on the other.
She creates complicated installations, often using tape to make line-drawings on floors and walls and integrating wooden constructions and painted sticks that are spread around exhibition spaces.
