In the late nineties Kristján Loðmfjörð (b. 1977) co-founded the film association Lortur which became a populous group of young artists in Reykjavik Iceland, producing experimental films as well as hosting the visual art biennale Drum Solo. In 2002 Loðmfjörð studied visual art at AKI Academy of Visual Arts in Holland, where he graduated from Mixed Media department in 2006. Over the past years his main focus has been on documentary film making. With the film medium Loðmfjörð explores the border between art and cinema with emphasis on the narration of visual language and sound. His work varies from audiovisual installations to linear filmmaking.
