Þórdís Jóhannesdóttir (b. 1979) graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2007. She is currently enrolled in the M.a. Program at the same Academy. As Þórdís travels through everyday life she collects frozen moments with her camera. These photographs make up the essence of her art practice. In her photographs she likes to mix together unpredictable moments. She often presents layers of various simultaneous instances in time. In that way she wishes to engage viewers in a way that evokes a puzzled confusion. Her works take on various forms, but often as site-specific installations or video installations.
