Join us for the opening reception of ‘TV Dreams’
A group exhibition with works by Baldur Helgason (Chicago based), Peter Jeppson (Sweden based), and Zach Mory (Chicago based) featuring figurative paintings and drawings with comic and cartoon elements.
BALDUR HELGASON is an Icelandic visual artist who lives and works in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. He graduated from Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2008 and from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2011. He was awarded SF Weekly’s Mastermind grant in 2011 and his work has been featured in Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts Annuals. Baldur held his first solo show, Bald by Baldur, at Port Gallery in Reykjavík, Iceland in 2016. His work draws inspiration from popular culture, politics, religious imagery, illuminated manuscripts and folk tales.
Join us for the opening reception on March 25th from 7-10PM where there will be music and refreshments.
Miishkooki Art Space was created by John Maloof, a Chicago native and artist known for directing the film, Finding Vivian Maier, and curating/managing her photographic archive.
Established to promote and show contemporary art of various genres, Miishkooki aims to promote emerging artists through its exhibition gallery space and provide a workspace for artists to create art.
