Hreinn Friðfinnsson and Magnús Logi Kristinsson: Dark and Light with Green
The exhibition at the Folk and Outsider Art Museum includes photographs of Magnús Logi´s previous performance art, and he was scheduled to give a new performance at the opening ceremony of the Reykjavík Arts Festival in June 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival has been disrupted, but not cancelled. His performance relates to his experiments with colours on his own body: as a rule, he stands motionless as a statue, while observers may come and go as they please.
An installation of works by Hreinn Friðfinnsson was exhibited at the Folk and Outsider Art Museum in 2011: stones, glass, a singing bowl and a fossil fish were installed in the context of the Museum’s surroundings, the horizon and the brook. On this occasion, in 2020, a series of events are explored that took place at the Museum some time ago – evoking and reinforcing the view held by some, that the Museum is surrounded by communities of hidden people or elves.
