Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir: Mynd eftirmynd
Sunday 7th of June the opening of the solo exhibition of Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir´s work. The exhibition is opening daily from 14:00 – 17:00 untill 21st of June 2020.
In this exhibition Ingunn Fjóla presents three pairs of images, which are made up of woven paintings and dull monochrome surfaces painted directly on the walls of the exhibition space. Together the pieces form an insertion into the space where the traditions of crafts and painting meet. An examination of the basic characteristics of the painting and threads in various images have often been prominent in the works of the artist. In recent years it has gradually moved towards a more philosophical approach phenomenology in her artworks.
How to we perceive a work of art?
Is it the object itself or the experience of it that we perceive?
Is colour tangible or intangible – can it be touched?
