You are invited to the opening of MIRA! in Mengi on Saturday December 12th, when Mengi celebrates its seventh birthday.
An exhibition by Orri Jónsson, where you enter his family’s world in Mexico as they stayed in a small village in Oaxaca province during a four month period in 2016.
An experimental study project in collaboration with Mengi. The purpose was to rethink their approach to learning and creating.
The exhibition gives a little insight into this project where you can find audio clips from conversations, samples of art and diary entries, sketches, notes and drawings by the family.
We will be open on Óðinsgata 2 between 13 and 18. All are welcome!
After the doors close, Ólöf Arnalds and Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson will record a concert and curious bypassers can look through the window.
The concert itself will be broadcast on Wednesday 16th of December on Mengi’s and the City of Reykjavík’s media.
We respect the COVID-19 measurements and ask guests to wear masks. We can only invite 10 people at a time indoors.
We encourage you to take a look and experience the exhibition, which is open until the beginning of January.
