History of Iceland: Part 1 – Clay and Porcelain

For the past 40 years, the company Clay and Porcelain (Leir og Postulín) has printed logos, photographs and slogans on cups for companies, municipalities, NGOs and individuals. Now the company has agreed to lend over 600 unique cups that they have stored over the years. Each cup is a memorial of various events; everything from opening the bridge in the north, donations for sewing clubs to old forgotten company logos. Together, the cups record a timeline of unexamined history of Iceland over the past 40 years.

The exhibition consists of these 600 cups and has invited 20 artists, organizations, designers, performing artists, writers and historians to create their own cups.

The exhibition will be open until July 4th every Saturday at 14-18 and by arrangement.
