“With this exhibition in Þula I will be going back to the watercolours and giving the oil a break. The paintings are created during the summer and fall 2020 in the highlands of Icelands. I will be traveling up to the mountains and into the stone-desert, or where ever the brush guides me. The water for the paintings comes from lakes and rivers that are near to where I’ll be painting. The play of light and shadows during this time of the year is a challenge that I welcome, and one can say these paintings are literally a piece of the land.
