Halla Birgisdóttir: Ghosts and other past things
17 December, 2022–8 January, 2023
In the exhibition Ghosts and other past things, you can see visual poems about memories, emotions and other things that haunt us. In the olden days, it was common to see ghosts in the absolute darkness that people lived in. How do we see ghosts in our enlightened society? Do ordinary, everyday ghosts exist? Does everything we do leave traces? The visual poems are shown alongside a wall drawing called We leave traces. With the exhibition will be published an artist book with the drawing from the exhibition.
Halla Birgisdóttir (b. 1988) lives and works in Reykjavík. She uses drawings and texts to create fragmented narrative spaces that appear in forms such as installations, artist books and wall drawings. She calls herself a visual poet. www.hallabirgisdottir.org
