Úlfar Örn (1952) is an artist living in Laugarás, in the south of Iceland. He studied graphic design and illustration both in Reykjavik and Stockholm, Sweden.

Prior to becoming a full-time artist, he worked in the advertising industry and as an illustrator for many years whilst simultaneously running his own creative practice. Úlfar believes that drawing is the base of all his work, and as a result he practiced his drawing technique vigorously throughout his career. His work has been exhibited in a number of exhibitions in Iceland.

In this exhibition ORKA / ENERGY he exhibits figurative paintings from the years 2021 and 2022. Úlfar has been working on his figurative imagery for many years. In his work he does not only capture the anatomy of his subjects, but places emphasis on movement and the rhythm of movement. The great tangible energy that is circulating the world these days, the severe storms, the pandemic and now the threat to world peace have certainly had an influence on some of the works.
