Margrét Elísabet Ólafsdóttir is an assistant professor in art education at the University of Akureyri. She is also an independent scholar, curator and writer. In 2002 she co-founded Lorna – association for electronic art, that has organized many pioneering projects in the field of electronic and media art, including Pikslaverk Festival and Lorna Lab. Among her curatorial projects are Points of Contact at Listasafn Arnesinga (2014), Icelandic Video Art from 1975-1990 at the Reykjavik Art Museum (2013) and At the Convergences of Art and Philosophy at the Reykjavik Art Museum in 2011. She has been writing about art since the late 1980s and is currently working on a biography on the Icelandic video artist Steina Vasulka.
