Artist Andreas Brunner has been selected from a group of applicants for a residency at the guest studio Künstlerhaus Bethanien in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, Germany. For the past five years, Icelandic visual artists and visual artists with a strong connection to the Icelandic art scene have been able to apply to stay in the studio.
The Ministry of Culture and the Viljandi, Memorial Fund funds the project. Andreas Brunner was born in Switzerland but has lived in Iceland for years. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of the Arts in Lucerne and a master's degree from the Iceland University of the Arts. Andreas has exhibited in many places around the world and here in Iceland, among others in the Reykjavík Art Museum, the Living Art Museum, Kling & Bang and Gerðarsafn Art Museum. He was nominated for the motivational prize of the Icelandic Art Prize in 2021.
