More details
The fund provides three types of grants:
According to the Visual Arts Council allocation policy the following projects have priority:
- projects that support the implementation of the Governments Visual Art policy and the actions that fall under the scope of the Visual Art Council
- projects that promote international cooperation and facilitate the promotion of Icelandic art abroad
- diverse projects in the field of art, i.e. regarding sustainability and cultural diversity
- projects carried out in connection with art festivals and residencies in Iceland and abroad
- projects based on research collaboration and publication of art
The Fund’s minimum grant amount is 300.000 ISK, and the maximum is 3.000.000 ISK. The fund covers up to 70% of the estimated total project budget.
Please note that, for exhibition series or group exhibitions, organisers are encouraged to submit a single application on behalf of all participants rather than having each participant apply individually. If participants opt to submit separate applications for their contributions, it is advisable that they do not also apply for funding for the entire project.
If an applicant has previously been awarded a grant from the Visual Arts Fund, a final report must have been received before a new application is considered.
