Hamraborg Festival is a vibrant art festival in the heart of Kópavogur, Iceland. 

The festival takes place every year at the end of August, marking the culmination of summer with a week-long celebration of art and community. 

This year, Hamraborg Festival brings together a chorus of voices to celebrate collaboration, togetherness, and collective dreaming. As we look towards the future, we engage in a meaningful dialogue with the rich history of Hamraborg.

A program filled with various events, performances, concerts and workshops awaits us. All festival exhibitions and events will take place in culture houses, public places, cafes, shops and offices located in Hamraborg, Kópavogur. All events are open for everyone and free of charge. 

This year, the Hamraborg Festival is bringing together artists connected to Hamraborg and Kópavogur, while also inviting voices from beyond including Deepa R. Iyengar, Adam Flint & Annahita Asgari, Hildur Elisa Jónsdottir, Bryndís Björnsdóttir, Erik DeLuca, Hrefna Lind, Dýrfinna Benita Basalan, Emil Gunnarsson, Jóhanna Ásgeirsdóttir with Ásgerður Heimisdóttir, Anna Wallenius, Pétur Eggertsson, Sadie Cook with Ynda Eldborg, Antonía Berg, Íris María Leifsdóttir and Vikram Pradhan. The festival will also present a Hamraborg Fashion Show with designs of Polish and Icelandic designers (Kamil Wesołowski and Rebbeka Ashley).

Music lovers are in for a treat with an exciting concert night at Catalina. The lineup features bands MSEA, Ghostigital, Xiupill and DJ sets. The festival's program will also include poetry readings, projects by queer artists, and special workshops, interactive installations, and performances designed for kids and families.
