Agnieszka Sosnowska, Ingunn Snædal

Rask-Listahatid-RVK

The exhibition RASK brings together photographer Agnieszka Sosnowska and poet Ingunn Snædal. The interplay of photography and poetry creates a testimony of the development and erosion of land. In highly perceptive ways, these two different artists react to each other’s creations and what they sense and experience in a disturbed, eroded environment.

Many areas of Eastern Iceland are marked by considerable and unstoppable erosion. Surrounded by this erosion, Agnieszka and Ingunn invited us to stop and take in the moment. Eastern Iceland is their home, past and future - a world that they depict in images and words.

Warsaw-born Agnieszka Sosnowska grew up in Boston and studied at the Massachusetts College of the Arts and Boston University. Her works have appeared in various print media as well as at the National Gallery of Iceland, Akureyri Art Museum and the Icelandic Photography Museum, to name a few.

Ingunn Snædal was born in Egilsstaðir and grew up in Jökuldalur. Ingunn studied at the Icelandic College of Teaching, University of Galway and the University of Iceland. Her poetry and translations have received numerous awards.
