30 artists receive travel grants

The Icelandic Art Center has allocated travel grants to 30 artists in the first distribution of the year 2025, totaling 1.8 million Icelandic króna.

Four artists, Melanie Ubaldo, Litten Nystrom, Claudia Hausfeld, and Fritz Hendrik Berndsen, receive grants for studio residencies in the United States, Norway, and Belgium. Les Ailes de Caius in Rennes, France, receives a grant to host an artist from Iceland for a studio residency. Odee Friðriksson receives a grant to give a lecture on his work at the University of Basel. Auður Lóa Guðnadóttir receives a grant for participation in the Market art fair in Stockholm. Four artists, Þorgerður Ólafsdóttir, Gústav Geir Bollason, Þorbjörg Jónsdóttir, and Margrét Jónsdóttir, receive grants to participate in exhibitions in Finland and Canada, while three groups receive grants to attend and participate in group exhibitions in Switzerland, Norway, and Denmark.
