Leap Day is the final day of the exhibition 0°0°Null Island at Kjarvalsstaðir. We will use this extra day to our advantage and fill it with creativity and art. On February 29 Kjarvalsstaðir will be open until 22h00.

Artist Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir will show her full length video works Developement, 2015 and Revolvement, 2018 with shorter video works in between.

The Performance Guiding Light from 2004 will be reenacted with participating artist.

Over the course of the day, the artist will experiment with new work wit hthe help of guests inside the work Stage, 2023.

Kjarvalsstaðir houses the works of one of Iceland’s most influential and recognised artists, Jóhannes S. Kjarval. The exhibitions at Kjarvalsstaðir focus primarily on paintings and sculptures of the established masters of modern art.

The building is a fine example of Nordic modernism, it features floor-to ceiling windows that look onto the beautiful Klambratún Park.

One can take in the view while enjoying a drink or a snack at the restaurant. The restaurant is open from 10h00-17h00. There is also a Museum Store in the lobby and a lovely family-activity space, the Idea Lab. Experience Icelandic art and enjoy your stay at Kjarvalsstaðir.
