Travel Grants
The Icelandic Art Center awards travel grants to Icelandic or Iceland based visual artists.
Travel grants are intended for travel, accommodation, and related costs and are awarded for exhibitions, projects, and residences outside Iceland.
Grant amounts are usually 75.000 kr. per individual. Groups can apply with one application for larger projects.
Icelandic artists or artists active in the Icelandic art scene are eligible for travel grants.
Application deadlines
The deadline for travel grant application is three times a year:
February 1, for travel around February – May
June 1, for travel around June – September
October 1, for travel around October – January
In 2025, four million kronas will be awarded for travel grants.
The deadline is midnight on the days mentioned above. Applications and accompanying documents arriving after the application deadline are invalid and will not be considered.
