ART IN ICELAND

“WRITE WITH US”

Art in Iceland is currently seeking individual voices, writers, artists and critical thinkers to write for the publication. With the second issue in the works, we are seeking pitches for writing that responds, reflects or expands upon ideas included in the first issue of Art in Iceland.

To be considered for the next round of publication in early 2022, please submit your pitches by the 6th of December. Pitches should be no longer than 200 words in length and clearly communicate the desired format of your writing.

We welcome writing on contemporary art in Iceland that is lively and engaged with current ideas and debates – both local and international. We aim to have submissions as part of ongoing publication activity, with pitches for publication texts, articles, reviews and creative writing received on a rolling deadline basis.

We are excited to open up the platform in this way and work with writers to develop their ideas and process. This is intended as a collaborative exchange and writers should expect that as part of the process. The editorial board reserves the right to make decisions regarding the selection and development of pitches.

Please contact us at myndlistaislandi@gmail.com with any questions and pitches. We look forward to hearing your ideas!

Art in Iceland is a magazine about visual art in Iceland. Our aim is to create and sustain a center for artistic discourse and to be a platform for fruitful and critical debate about the art and the scene in Iceland. The magazine is a collaborative project between The Association of Icelandic Artists (SÍM), The Icelandic Art Center (KÍM), the fine art department of the Iceland University of the Arts, The Association of Art History and Theory in Iceland, and The Icelandic Visual Arts Council. The first issue of Art in Iceland came out in March 2021.
